Human sacrifice

A world full of humans,

Devoid of humanity.

Turn the lock once, twice,

Still it would not suffice.

It might keep the burglar away,

But politics will enter your home anyway.

The ones you look upto,

Are looking down on you.

You call 911 to report,

While the police plants 420 in your bag,

On the way to the airport.

Off you deport!

They lend a hand, pull you up, 

Then push the envelope,

Till you goof up.

They make sure you clean up nice,

And to gain favour with their deities,

They offer you as sacrifice,

Like an animal with no voice.

Around you there is so much noise,

Distracted and dazed, 

You don't even put up a fight,

You forget you ever had a choice.

Haiku #10 - Healing

Always remember,

It is the healing that hurts,

Not the injury.

Mediocre

Do you need to look for motivation when you have none?
What if you don't want to be "the one"?

Is reaching the top all that matters?
What if you don't care if your dreams are shattered?
Isn't an aimless life, a life still?
Either ways,
Would you get to live the life you will?
Or you see yourself die paying bills?

Can the measure of success be redefined?
Why leave your competition behind?
Can greatness take a backseat for a gentle heart to unwind?
Can beauty standards be a bit more kind?
In a world of thick skulls with skin-deep minds,
Is the key to happiness what we really need to find?

Who says sadness doesn't give peace?
Ask a lover holding on to memories.
Is moving on always the right choice?
Why not give your solitude a voice?

I have learned to grieve, shed a tear,
Help if I can, or send a prayer.
Rest if I must,
No compulsion to be in full gear.
Mediocre as it may be,
It made life easy to persevere.

If Only

I may be a nice guy,

But, if only...

My pockets were a bit deeper,

For more things to buy.

If only, I was tall,

To make the ladies fall.

A better looking lad,

A sexier tad.

Knew to pick the right label,

To be a bit more fashionable.

Had a little more confidence,

Not in doubt every instance.

Showed enough persistance,

Till my desires got acceptance.

If only, I had more intelligence,

Like I knew the purpose of existence.

Uttered lenghty sentences,

Indifferent to your interferences.

Spoke up more against nonsense,

Rather than showing tolerance.

If only, I wasn't afraid of violence,

Irrespective of the consequence.

Then...

Well then, 

I might have been a complete a**hole.

So I am glad the way I am,

Thank you God, this soul 

needs nothing more.

Was a nobody.

Back to being a nobody

with some memories.

Nothing here is yours

You are only borrowing

Time, love, life itself.

I pray for souls that

leave me behind; the dead and 

the living as well.

#3 - Sailor 

Oceans can't be tamed,

Yet I have to sail the ship;

Take me down with her. 

#4 - Bridge 

You were my river,

For you I was just a bridge,

Connecting two souls. 

#5 - Fragrance 

Flowery fragrance,

You don't need any perfume.

Will you fade away?
